This caricature dates from the Society’s early years and depicts several members of the Narwhals Golfing Society, celebrated at the time for their high standard of Welsh amateur golf. It reflects the character and camaraderie of the Society, as well as the individual styles of its players.

The illustration also references the Narwhal tusk, a long-standing symbol of the Society. The tusk was presented to the Narwhals by Charles Glover, Sam’s brother in law, who served in the Ministry of Supply during the Second World War.
